A 2019 study tested the effectiveness of Trioxidil treatment in preventing hair loss:

This study involved 30 men and 30 women between the ages of 18-75.
The subjects used Foligain shampoo, Foligain conditioner and Foligain lotion for a period of 120 days and the results were assessed by a clinical expert.
The subjects used the shampoo and conditioner at least 3-5 times a week and the topical treatment (the lotion) twice daily.

What were the results of this study?

Hair strength and decrease in hair loss improved significantly over the four-month assessment period.

The study further showed that the shine, volume, thickness, softness and health of the scalp improved statistically each month.
